Episode 3 - Bad Edit!

I can't believe they didn't show or explain how fire can be started with eyeglasses - they missed an opportunity for another science lesson.. My only thought is that perhaps the producers want to preserve the mystery about fire-starting so as to not make it easy for subsequence series survivors..

There's no way to focus the sun with your glasses - the trick is to put a drop of water on the glass to act as a magnifying glass (convex lens) and focus the sun to start a fire. .. And who do you think came up with that idea and didn't get acknowledged...

Oh well, at least I'm still on the island!!!

Warriors destroy Knicks on Valentine's Day

It was good to see the Warriors do so well although they did try to blow the big lead in the fourth quarter. I was at the game with Dara, and I spent most of the game trying to ignore the conversation between the guy who was trying to hit on her and her. Having a teenager is hard!

Yau-Man survives!

Well I didn't get to post last week so I suppose I should catch up. First, everyone loved how Yau-Man opened that box when none of the big burly guys could! Not much Yau-Man action tonight. But the snake on Exile island! Yuck!

Just one more day

It's only one more day until the Survivor:Fiji debut featuring Yau-Man. There were lots of commercials for it during the Superbowl. I pretty much wore out the TiVo trying to find Yau-Man. Today, he was featured in the Contra Costa Times at http://www.contracostatimes.com/mld/cctimes/entertainment/television/16641688.htm. His picture was right next to Jessica Simpson's, a strange juxtaposition. Final pool spots to be published tomorrow.

The All-Star game

Why do we even care? No Warriors in a playoff game or an all-star game. But at least Monta goes to the rookie challenge or whatever it is.
